Studio 512 talked with the Austin Gem and Mineral Society about their annual show, Gem Capers. Kids of all ages can play, learn, find a perfect gift or learn how to make their own jewelry and décor. John Curttright dropped by with more on the event. The Austin Gem and Mineral Society’s annual show, Gem Capers is this weekend, October 21st through the 23rd. With over 30 vendors, this event caters to children with interactive and hands on stations. They have a gem mine that allows kids to find cool rocks and then they can transform their stone into a piece of jewelry. From scavenger hunts for the kids to silent auctions for the adults, there is something for everyone. Gem Capers will be held at the Palmer Events Center.
