Designer pumpkins, anyone? Some of the most aesthetically talented in our city will be making pumpkin dreams and important wishes come true for some very special kids. Tiffany Stewart of the AIGA came by to hang out with us and tell us how they will be carving their “guts” out at The Guts Event benefiting Make A Wish. The Guts Event is Saturday, October 22nd at Yard Bar. Carvers will have 90 minutes to carve a pumpkin and then the pumpkins are auctioned off for a great cause. The tools she suggested are: Exacto, Linoleum Carver, Clay Carver, a spoon and sharp knives. Here are some of Tiffany’s tips to carving creatively. First, gut out the inside of a pumpkin. Make sure you get all soft buts because soft bits will rot. Another tip is preserving your pumpkin. Let the pumpkin soak in bleach water. This kills all bacteria and mold preventing a rotten pumpkin.
