Overnight shooting kills man, injures another in Northeast Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured overnight.

It happened at the 300 block of East Wells Branch Parkway, just south of Heatherwilde Boulevard at around 4 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities received a call about a man with injuries along the roadway. The witness told police that a vehicle was seen further down the road.

According to Austin/Travis County EMS, medics found a Hispanic man in his mid-20’s with gunshot wounds in the driver’s side of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other man was sent to Round Rock Medical Center with minor injuries and is expected to be OK. APD says the victims are siblings.

Investigators say they are looking for a suspect involved. As of right now, a suspect description has not been released.

APD is asking anyone with additional details to call 911 immediately.
