How to Sneak Healthy Treats into your Family Meals

Sneaky Apron is the story of a mom and a wife that’s determined to make meals easier and healthier for her family by getting smarter in sneaking in good ingredients into everyday meals such that they taste good for picky palates. Hema Reddy, the founder, has always loved to cook, entertain friends and family and experiments with different cuisines. As a wife to a husband that’s all about meat and little about veggies, she quickly realized that she has to adapt her recipes and techniques. Hema strongly believed that nutrition and a balanced meal are essential to one’s well being and good long term health. So, she started cooking foods that included meat in some amounts, but also substituted some of it with plant based proteins, vegetables and whole grains in such a way that they would taste just as great, if not better!

Her skill in getting smarter in the kitchen was really put to test when her son was born and had a gag reflex and was outright picky with most textures. Therefore over the years, she has mastered the art of cooking foods that include a ton of nutrition but also taste ultra delicious for her foodie family.

The result: her son went from being underweight at 15 percentile when he was 2 years old, to being healthy and doing wonderful on the height and weight scale within a year! Her husband is more open to vegetables and grains that were not part of his diet before.

Hema loved this transformation and the results so much, that she decided to quit her full time job as a successful marketing professional at IBM and dedicate her time to sharing her recipes, her passion for cooking, educating, and providing healthier tastier meal options for busy individuals, parents and kids. That in essence, is the inspiration behind Sneaky Apron.

With Sneaky Apron, Hema offers recipes, video tutorials, and methods that are very easy to replicate in anyone’s kitchen. As with anything, it is way more fun to build a community that has similar beliefs and passion to take an active interest in what you eat, and a concerted effort in cultivating similar habits into the next generation.
