How to Make Your Guest Room Warm and Inviting

With fall football in full swing, and parties and holidays coming up, there’s a good chance your guest room will be put to good use if it isn’t already. Lifestyle blogger Camille Styles was here with picture perfect tips on how to spruce up our space so our visitors feel welcome and cozy. The first tip Camille gave was how to make the guest bed look inviting. Start with multiple layers of bedding to allow for different temperatures for guests’ sleeping habits. The next tip involved candles and magazines. Lavender and fig scented candles are scents many people are drawn to, and Diptyque candles are particularly known for their fragrances. Plants are another way to liven up the living space. If you don’t have a green thumb, don’t fret. Succulents and ferns are easy to manage plants that will make a statement in your home. You should also pick magazines that pique your guest’s interest. Something like Bon Apetite or Food and Wine for you mom, or People and Vogue for one of your best girlfriends. Another way to give guests the hotel experience at home is by placing small toiletries in the guest room and bathroom was the last tip Camille gave. You can buy these from a drug store or take a few extras the next time you find yourself in a hotel. Your guests will feel like they’re getting five star treatment. You can join Camille at the new Diptyque store at the Domain North Side this weekend. For more details and to see more of Camille’s great tips, go to provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
