Free fun in Austin for Oct. 14 through 16

AUSTIN (KXAN) — From movies in the park to a Beatles tribute band, here is the free fun Austin has in store for you this weekend.

  1. Movies in the park — Alice in Wonderland: You and the family can watch Alice in Wonderland Friday night in Mueller Park at 6:30 p.m. There will be a meet and greet with Alice and the Mad Hatter along with free tea and cookies.
  2. Who you gonna call — Ghostbusters: Don’t miss members of the ATX Ghostbusters on Friday at the screening of Ghostbusters at the Community First Village on Hog Eye Road. It starts at 7 p.m.
  3. Fall Holidays Fair: Explore fall and winter festivals celebrated in Asia on Saturday. There will be actives, demonstrations and cultural performances. It is from noon to 4 p.m. at the Asian American Resource Center on Cameron Road.
  4. Final show for After Dark Concert: The last show in the Southpark After Dark concert series concludes Saturday night with The Eggmen, a Beatles tribute band. The music starts at 7 p.m. at The Grove at Southpark Meadows.
  5. Community Art Sunday will be dishing out activities that combine food, art and cultural learning. There will be a baby-parent dance class. It is free, but food donations are appreciated. It is Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Center for Creative Action on East 17th St. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
