AUSTIN (KXAN) — A rollover crash on southbound Interstate 35 had morning commuters sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic during rush hour Thursday.

One man was transported to the North Austin Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries after the crash near Howard Lane around 6 a.m. Austin/Travis County EMS estimate him to be in his 30s.

The road is now open after police cleared the crash, but heavy delays were reported for several hours. During peak time, the back-up stretched all the way to Round Rock.

Amanda Dugan, traffic reporter, suggests drivers use SH130 or southbound MoPac to get around the traffic. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
