AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Silver Alert was issued for a missing 73-year-old woman diagnosed with dementia, Thursday. She was found safe by authorities less than two hours later in Caldwell County.

Carolyn Williamson is described by Austin police as 5 feet tall, 130 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes and carrying a purse with a Native American design pattern. She walks with a limp and uses a cane.

Williamson was last seen at 1 p.m. Thursday driving a maroon, 2013 Ford Edge with Texas license plate DDG-8657 near the 8800 block of Tallwood Dr., near the N. MoPac and U.S. 183 interchange.

Law enforcement officers believe her disappearance poses a threat to her own health and safety.
