AUSTIN (KXAN) — This weekend a local food truck has the chance to win $10,000 for the 4th annual Trucklandia food truck taste-off.
Joining us in the studio with the delicious details is Case Erickson, producer of the Trucklandia Festival, and Miguel Barrutia, owner of Llama’s Peruvian Cuisine.
The festival will be located at the downtown property of the Austin American Statesman at 305 S Congress Ave on Saturday, Oct. 15.
“Over 35 food trucks compete for your $10,000 vote as you taste their signature samples and decide who you think deserves the grand prize,” said Erickson.
Sampling is limited to 1,000 judges, and it’s open to the general public, but you do have to buy a ticket.
10 percent of your tickets go to Keep Austin Fed, which is an organization that re-purposes food that would have normally been thrown away. They redistribute the goods to local food banks, charities, and shelters.
