How to Make a Festive Bourbon Apple Sangria

With a legit pub vibe, 82 beers on tap and a perfect melting pot of Irish and American comfort foods, Jack and Ginger’s is the kind of place you will love curling up in this fall. Lead bartender Donny Pro dropped by to show us how to make one of their perfect seasonal cocktail. We made a bourbon apple sangria using 1 1/2 ounces of Maker’s Mark 46. We poured it over ice, and added a half ounce of apple juice. Then, pour the same amount of lemon juice. Top off your drink with Ace Pear cider. It goes with the Maker’s Mark 46 really well. Put the contents of your glass in a shaker to mix it up. The garnish we used was a granny smith apple. You can get this drink from Jack and Ginger’s anytime, but their happy hour is Monday through Friday, 3-7 p.m. Jack and Ginger’s is on Rock Rose at The Domain. Go to for more information or call 512-350-3738. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
