There’s more to Rockport than the beautiful sandy beaches. This coastal town has a lot of history, art and events. We met up with Diane Probst of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce to learn more about what makes the area so unique. The Fulton Mansion was built in the 1870’s and is still standing today. At the Rockport Center of the Arts you can visit an art exhibit for free. The Texas Maritime Museum is the official maritime museum of the state of Texas, and is very affordable. The aquarium is another family friendly option, and a nice way to see animals of the sea. There are events going on year round from the Oyster Fest in March to the Wine Fest in May. There are art events in July, and the Sea Fair in October. Learn more about The Fulton Mansion by heading to thc.texas.gov.
