AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are asking for help finding an armed suspect who robbed a Walmart customer in south Austin on Oct. 2.
The suspect was seen driving a silver minivan at the 9300 block of the South Interstate 35 service road, near West Slaughter Lane. Police say after he entered the store the suspect approached a customer in the parking lot around 2 p.m. The suspect pulled out a gun and demanded the person give him money.
He fled the scene in the minivan. The suspect is also being connected to a similar incident from 30 minutes before the Walmart robbery at another business in the area.
Images of the suspect were captured on a surveillance camera, which police have released to the public. Officers describe him as a white or Hispanic man between 20 and 25-years-old. He is estimated to be 5’9″ with a thin build, brown hair, and a chinstrap beard. The photos show he was last seen wearing a baseball cap, glasses, a dark colored jacket, a white shirt, red pants, and grey tennis shoes.
