Fire destroys home in East Travis County

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Firefighters are still putting out hot spots on a house fire near SH 130 just east of Walter E. Long Park in eastern Travis County.

The fire started just before 2 p.m. in the 7500 block of Nez Perce Trace. Initial information indicates the fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire approximately 10 minutes later.

Travis County ESD No. 12 said when firefighters arrived at the home there was heavy fire coming from the home. Firefighters fought the fire defensively and had it knocked out by 3:30 p.m. but it appears the home is destroyed.

It appears no one was home at the time the fire started.
