AUSTIN (KXAN) — The week began with a new round of threats directed at Austin-area schools, stemming from the clown-related threats seen nationwide. Stories on the so-called clown threats drew readers in, some genuinely concerned about the claims, others watching for entertainment value. News of the San Marcos High School principal’s resignation after admitting to changing up to 100 student grades generated enormous interest. The superintendent spoke to KXAN, who said students would not be punished for the mistakes of adults. Perhaps the most emotional video was an interview with 15-year-old Karinya Chen, who died days after we spoke with her last week. Chen received a private concert from Florence Welch, of Florence + The Machine, last May, in a video that was seen by millions.
