ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Students and staff at Double File Trail Elementary School in Round Rock were asked to stay inside for a short period of time due to a suspicious package that was found near the school Friday morning.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call just after 9 a.m. indicating there was a package on the 2400 block of Chandler Creek Boulevard, just 200 yards away from the school. Several nearby homes in the northeast Round Rock neighborhood had to be evacuated as a precaution. In the end, authorities say the package was an empty cooler bag and nothing more.

The Austin Police Department’s Bomb Squad is assisting with the call.

The all-clear was given right before 11 a.m.
