Some of the brightest and youngest chefs in Austin will have their chance to make quite an impression on you. The “slow food chefs in the making” event puts them in the spotlight and you at the table. Patricia Tamminga of Patricia’s Table is one of the sponsors who has worked closely with these pint-sized, but talented chefs. She stopped by to tell us more and cook up a tasty, seasonal treat. We made a crispy dish with apples, pears and butternut squash. This easy snack is perfect for kids to work on their knife skills if they are chefs in the making. Slow Food Chefs in the Making will feature Jack Crabb and Alex Alcorta, two junior chef extraordinaires from Food Network. They will be paired with professional chefs Jesse DeLeon and Amber Antonelli. Slow Food Chefs in the Making is happening Saturday, Oct. 15th from 6-10 p.m. at 1510 W. 35th Street. Purchase tickets online by going to slowfoodaustin.org.
