FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is determining what led up to the death of a 3-year-old boy who was struck and killed in a driveway Sunday.

Police say they received a 911 call around 4:45 p.m. stating the boy had been hit by a car on Harold Road in the Muldoon area. When emergency crews arrived, the child had already succumbed to his injuries. Authorities say the child lived at the home where the accident happened.

The Justice of the Peace was notified. The name of the child will not be released while the investigation continues.

Editor’s Notes: Fayette County Sheriff’s Office originally said the child was 4 years old but they made a mistake and the child is actually 3 years old.
