WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A Round Rock woman is charged with intoxication manslaughter after a deadly crash on Sept. 21.

The Department of Public Safety says 46-year-old Lisa Miller was driving southbound on County Road 175, north of Ranch to Market 1431, around 11 p.m. when she veered into the northbound lanes hitting a car being driven by 69-year-old Raymond Shannon of Georgetown. Shannon died at the scene. When troopers arrived at the scene, they noticed Miller had a strong smell of alcohol on her breath and glassy red eyes, according to an arrest affidavit.

In the center console of Miller’s car, police found an opened personal size wine bottle along with a bottle of prescription pills. She admitted to taking a prescribed pill prior to getting behind the wheel.

Miller told authorities she had left Parkside Elementary — where she works as a janitorial custodian — and was on her way home from work when the crash happened.

Miller was booked into Williamson County Jail and released the same day on a $40,000 bond.
