The first debate between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump kicks off at 9 p.m. ET at Hofstra University in Hampstead, N.Y. Here’ s a behind-the-scenes look at the action from Media General correspondents at the event.

The debate will take place at 9 p.m. on NBC, CBS and ABC. It can also be seen on PBS, CNN and Fox News. It will be moderated by NBC “Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt.
