WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A woman stopped for driving in the left lane without passing was found to be hiding nearly 70 pounds of cocaine in her car, Williamson County officials said Wednesday.

According to a release from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, Sandra Jane Calderon, 34, began acting nervous and was evasive to questioning after being stopped by a deputy while driving on IH-35.

After being given conflicting stories from Calderon, the deputy asked for permission to search her vehicle. A K9 found 31 kilograms (just over 68 pounds) of cocaine in several hidden compartments.

The Sheriff’s Office said cocaine in Central Texas is currently selling for about $35,000 per kilogram. That makes the total bust worth $1,085,000.

Calderon was arrested on drug charges and is currently in the federal detention facility in Bastrop.
