Band for Cancer makes a tour stop in Austin


AUSTIN (KXAN) — A special concert is coming to Austin to fight cancer at the Bass Concert Hall Saturday night.

Band Against Cancer has teamed up with St. David’s Healthcare to connect those facing cancer with community resources and support close to home.

This year, the concert will focus on helping people who are fighting blood cancer in the Austin area. Blood cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related death’s in the country. Patients facing cancer will help the healthcare center with services such as blood marrow transplants

The concert event is part of the Sarah Cannon Tour concert series which has traveled to Dallas, San Antonio, Denver and Nashville this year.

The event will feature performances by country singer Martina McBride, Thompson Square, Cassadee Pope and Hudson Moore. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
