AUSTIN (KXAN) — Drivers who routinely take North MoPac should plan accordingly with numerous lane closures scheduled along the freeway this weekend.
Starting on Friday, Sept. 16 at 10 p.m., the southbound exit to Duval/Burnet Road will close for work on drainage structures. The right lane of southbound MoPac and the left lane of the southbound MoPac frontage road will also be closed in the area between Parmer Lane and Duval Road. The far left hand turn lane from Parmer Lane onto the southbound frontage road will also be closed. All of the closures should be back open by rush hour Monday morning.
At the same time, the left lane of northbound MoPac will be closed from Lady Bird Lake to Enfield Road, the center and right lane will be closed from Anderson Lane to Steck Avenue and the northbound Steck Avenue exit will be closed. Also the left lane of the southbound exit to Cesar Chavez and 5th Street will be closed. These closures are expected reopen Saturday morning.
On Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10 p.m., the right lane of northbound MoPac from Far West Boulevard to Anderson Lane and the center and right lane from Anderson Lane to Steck Avenue will be closed to remove concrete traffic barrier and to perform asphalt paving work. The lanes will reopen no later than 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.
