AUSTIN (KXAN) — Who would you rather have a beer with, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump? That’s what Flying Saucer Draught Emporium is asking with their new 2016 U.S. presidential glasses.
Since the Flying Saucer launched its election glasses in 2004, sales of the pint glasses have correctly predicted the outcome of the last three presidential elections. While you can get the glasses at the bar, this is the first year the glasses will be on sale online for $8.
“Our Beerknurds haven’t been wrong in the last 12 years,” says Shannon Wynne, co-founder of Flying Saucer. “The online sales mean that more people can own a part of this historic election season, and they’ll get a keepsake beer vessel to drown their sorrows, no matter who wins.”
Austin’s Flying Saucer location is located at the Triangle on West 47th Street. Each of the company’s 16 locations will keep a tally of its local glass sales on a banner above the bar, and final results of this year’s election glass sales will be announced on Election Day, Nov. 8.
