Round Rock teen arrested, accused of shooting father

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A teen is in custody after he allegedly shot his father in their Round Rock home on Sept. 12.

Trevor Thompson, 19, faces charges for Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury for Family Violence, which is a first degree felony. Thompson was arrested in northwest Austin around 4 p.m. Sept. 13 by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office along with the U.S. Marshall’s Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

Thompson’s father is currently in stable condition at the hospital. The 48-year-old man went into surgery to treat his injuries after the shooting.

A manhunt to find the teen was launched on Monday and ended with Thompson’s arrest on Tuesday. The incident happened in the Siena subdivision on the 5800 block of Sardinia Dr.

While the investigation continues, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to call 512-943-1300 or 1-800-253-7867.
