KXAN Educates teams up with E3 Alliance

AUSTIN (KXAN) — As another school year begins KXAN launches KXAN Educates, an initiative designed to provide parents and the community with perspective and resources to improve student progress, learning and achievement across Central Texas.

KXAN Educates, in partnership with E3 Alliance, spotlights educational issues throughout the year that impacts the local economy and provides data-supported solutions powered by E3 Alliance.
Throughout the 2016 and 2017 calendar year, KXAN Educates will focus on the following:

  • August – October: School Attendance
  • November – January: Health
  • February – March: Math Matters!
  • April – July: Summer Learning Loss

“KXAN recognizes the power of education to enrich our community and the majority of our public service resources will be directed towards promoting the importance of improving our local educational efforts,” said Eric Lassberg KXAN President and General Manager. “We believe a KXAN initiative focused on education will have the greatest beneficial long-term impact for our Central Texas community, and ultimately that’s our goal.”

“The economic and social future of our region depends on education and KXAN is using their platform to multiply this message,” said Susan Dawson President and Executive Director. “E3 Alliance is excited to provide the objective data to KXAN to inform audiences across our community about how we can work together to bring a stronger future for Central Texas.”
