San Antonio mattress store’s 9/11 ad goes viral for worst reasons

San Antonio, Texas (WOAI) A mattress store advertising a 9/11 memorial “Twin Tower sale” is now facing major backlash on social media.

The ad shows two stacks of mattresses piled up collapsing to the ground while the owner of the store says “We will never forget.”

Needless to say, the response has been less than kind.

“We are not hate, we are love, we are somebody that stands out, we are miracle mattress, we make miracles happen. And for our lives to be in danger that is not what we ever wanted,” said Miracle Mattress owner Cherise Bonanno.

Cherise Bonanno says she didn’t realize the 20 second ad would cause the controversy it has. At one point, however, the video was advertised as a 9/11 meme.

Since the video was posted, the store’s owner posted a lengthy apology on Facebook. The video was also removed.

Now Miracle Mattress says they will donate 30 percent of their sales this weekend to the 9/11 Foundation.
