Take a Back-to-School Book Break

 

It’s quite a smattering of bone chilling titles on the list from Book People this week. Demi Marshall stopped in to share a few new books such as “The Terror Years” by Lawrence Wright. Wright’s book is a collection of his journalism over the last several years regarding Al-Qaeda and the rise of the Islamic State. He will be speaking at Book People on Monday, Sept. 19th at 7 p.m. “The Tower Sniper” by Monte Akers, Nathan Akers and Dr. Roger Friedman details the 1966 University of Texas tower shooting currently has signed copies available . We also learned that children now have a new picture book to read called “Quit Calling Me a Monster” by Jory John which breaks down stereotypes and promotes equality.
