AUSTIN (KXAN) — A Travis County Grand Jury has indicted three suspects for capital murder in the death of 68-year-old Lee King.
Authorities say King was killed at his Del Valle home on May 31. When officers originally responded to the home after a home burglary alarm went off, they saw Clifton Wade, 37, exit the garage with blood on his face.
Wade told deputies his friend, King, was injured and the suspect, identified as Reginald Wright, got away through a back bedroom window. Wade told deputies he saw Wright assault King with the end of a rifle and strangle him before leaving the scene.
Wright, 41, was arrested near Lockhart the afternoon of Wednesday, June 1. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed that Wright, Wade and a third person, Chelsea Wilhelm, 24, were all involved in the murder, as revealed by cellphone communication. Wilhelm drove the car intended to be used as the “get-away” vehicle.
All three are charged with capital murder and are now awaiting trial.
