Seton’s Big Pink Bus offers cancer screenings for women

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Whether you’re a busy mom preparing your kids to return to school or just happen to have an overwhelming work schedule, it’s also important for women to be aware of their health.

Seton’s Big Pink Bus is traveling around Austin communities offering free cancer screenings for women.

The mobile mammography unit offers convenient screenings for under served women over 40, who may not have regular access to the examinations. In addition to breast cancer screenings, women between the ages of 21 to 65 can receive a cervical cancer screening.

Nurse and program manager for cancer Dawn Parsons with Seton Healthcare was in the studio to talk about the Big Pink Bus and all the screenings available.
