Woman’s body found in Caldwell County field identified

CALDWELL COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body found in a field just a few miles northwest of Lockhart as 20-year-old Emilia Marie Juarez.

Around 6:48 a.m. Aug. 11 deputies discovered a body 200 yards away from FM 2720 on Jolly Road. The Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers say they are looking into the case as an “unattended death.”

Investigators are still trying to determine how her body ended up in the field. Officials say they will not be releasing any more information at this time as the investigation continues.

Police say Juarez was from Lockhart, Texas.
