AUSTIN (KXAN) — Two highly debated issues in Austin are the City Council’s agenda for today: traffic and housing. 

You can give your input on a mobility bond, which would allocate $720 million to improve traffic on Lamar Boulevard, Airport Boulevard, Riverside Drive, Burnet Road, MLK Boulevard, Guadalupe and FM 969.

  1. Driver critically injured after car hits bus on FM 969: A man is at Brackenridge hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash in Eastern Travis County. According to police, the car was traveling in the middle of the 969.
  2. Texas mom fighting school over transgender bathroom policies: She wants the school district to allow her 5-year-old daughter to use the girl’s bathroom. The school said students can only use the bathroom of the gender on their birth certificate.
  3. Millions of taxpayer dollars subsidizing problematic apartments: Cross Creek Apartments receives taxpayer dollars to provide affordable housing; yet, the same complex is also on the repeat offender list due to the laundry list of health and safety complaints.
