BLANCO COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Deputies responding to a domestic disturbance call near Blanco encountered a man who fired shots at them, police say.
The Blanco County Sheriff’s Office say they responded to the home in the 400 block of Whitmire Drive just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, the man inside the home, Arturo Cisneros, came out of the home and fired one shot. Family members inside the home were able to get out as officers secured the outside of the home.
Due to the nature of the incident, Blanco County called in assistance from the Hays County/San Marcos SWAT team as well as other nearby police departments. Negotiators tried to convince the man to surrender, “but he repeatedly refused.” Once authorities were able to secure an arrest warrant for Cisneros, the SWAT team approached the home but police say Cisneros fired another shot.
Officers were finally able to detain Cisneros around 1 a.m. While not officers were injured, the Blanco County Sheriff’s Office says they cannot comment on whether or not their deputies returned fire during the altercation.
Cisneros is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a public servant.
