Olympics: Swimming-Evening Session

The stars are out yet again in primetime on NBC on Day 3 of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, with Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky and Missy Franklin in the pool, the U.S. men’s gymnastics team fighting for a spot on the podium, David Boudia and Steele Johnson diving for a 10m synchronized platform medal and Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross hitting the sand. Michael Phelps swims the 200m butterfly; Katie Ledecky and Missy Franklin also in the pool

After winning gold Sunday night as part of the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay, Phelps returns to the pool in the men’s 200m butterfly semifinals looking to avenge his 2012 second-place finish. Katie Ledecky and Missy Franklin also square off in the women’s 200m freestyle semis, and record-breaking Katinka Hosszu squares off against American Maya DiRado in women’s 200m IM.

Three gold medals will be handed out Monday night in the men’s 200m freestyle, women’s 100m backstroke and men’s 100m backstroke.
