Learn About the Difference in Urgent Care vs ER

When does an injury or illness warrant a trip to the ER versus a call to your physician? I have to admit I did not know the answer to this question. But thanks to our friends at Five Star ER, I am good to go. Dr. Brian Aldred joined us in the studio to talk about what to do if you need medical help. He said to think of an urgent care facility as an extension of your doctors office. Anything more serious like a deep cut or things like chest pain, headache, dizziness and abdominal pain are symptoms your should go to the ER. Five Star ER has comprehensive service to diagnose cardiovascular issues, CAT scans, ultrasound and lab services. They’re open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with locations in South Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Dripping Springs. You can find out more by checking out fivestarer.com.
