Suspect charged in North Austin cabaret shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The suspect in a shooting at a North Austin cabaret Sunday has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.

Eric Carter, 36, is accused of shooting a 44-year-old man. It happened at Foxy’s Cabaret Night Club in the 16000 block of North Interstate 35, just south of West Louis Henna Boulevard, at around 5:10 a.m.

The victim was taken to Round Rock Hospital in critical condition.

The incident was the third shooting in the Austin area in only a few hours, following two shootings in downtown Austin earlier Sunday that resulted in one death and three injuries.
