Balloon accident 911 describes fire

LOCKHART, Texas (KXAN) — The first 911 caller for Saturday’s deadly hot air balloon accident near Lockhart, Texas told dispatchers it appeared to be a car on fire.

In the audio released Monday, The caller describes the intensifying fire while she is on the line with the dispatcher.

Investigators said Saturday that the first caller indicated they believed the fire was the result of a vehicle accident. It wasn’t until later that it became apparent a hot air balloon was involved.
