AUSTIN (KXAN) — MoPac express lanes were supposed to be completed by now offering drivers some relief from the traffic congestion the construction has only made worse.

- Austin foster kids go on shopping spree paid by non-profit: Today, 100 foster kids are going shopping for back to school clothes. As of June, just under 1,100 kids are in the Texas foster care system in need of a home.
- Opening of MoPac express lanes delayed again: The section of express lanes from 2222 to Parmer Lane was set to open Saturday or the contractor was going to face some hefty fines. The completion date has been set back to August and the contractor isn’t going to face a fine, at least not yet.
- Austin family say clock is ticking in search for missing daughter: Authorities are still searching for a woman who went missing in Austin on July 12. Her car was found two days later in a field in Kyle.
- Mom of toddler killed in Walmart parking lot suing driver: An Austin mother says she is looking for justice after police decided a driver who hit and killed her one-year-old toddler on July 7 will not face criminal charges.
