AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Energy crews have restored power to customers in west Austin.

About 1400 customers were without electricity after a substation lost power due to equipment failure, Austin Energy said in a tweet Sunday.

The affected customers were concentrated near Bee Caves Road and Walsh Tarlton Lane. Crews were able to restore power by 6:15 p.m., nearly an hour sooner than expected.
