AUSTIN (KXAN) — When it gets to be this hot outside it’s tempting to lounge in the air conditioning. Thursday, you and your kids are encouraged to stay cool, but do it while getting active.
The event, Keep Austin Playing, is open to the public for an interactive play date hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department. The goal is to get Austin moving through recreational classes and programs for Austinites of every age.
Featured fun will include a portable climbing wall, inflatable batting cage, bike rodeo, human foosball, obstacle course, corn hole, tailgate games, and prizes. You can also enter a giveaway to win a bike, Round Rock Express tickets, or a hoverboard.
The free day of play is Thursday, July 14 at the Palmer Events Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free parking is available.
