DALLAS (KXAN) — President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were in Dallas honoring the fallen officer killed last week.

Just outside the ceremony, others offered comfort the only way they knew how.

Ken Nwadike with the Free Hugs Project traveled all the way to Dallas from California to offer hugs in the wake of the tragedy.

KXAN Photographer Frank Martinez shared the project’s story.
