ELGIN, Texas (KXAN) — A Spicewood man was charged with intoxication manslaughter after hitting and killing two people riding a motorcycle on State Highway 95, around five miles south of Elgin.
Police were called at 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning, after Rodolfo Campuzano, 38, was driving his Kia Optima southbound when he hit the motorcycle from behind.
A spokesperson with the Department of Public Safety says Campuzano failed to control his speed. It’s not clear how fast he was driving.
The man driving the motorcycle, Billy Wayne Funderburgh, 45, and his passenger, Natalee Jean Funderburgh, 38, were killed in the crash. Both were from Bastrop.
