AUSTIN (KXAN) — KXAN News is Austin’s news leader in the most sought after demographic rating, Adults 25-54, across the vast majority of weekday newscasts: 5 a.m., 6 a.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. KXAN’s 10 p.m. News delivered the highest A2554 rating of any newscast on any station during Nielsen’s May sweeps. KXAN News was able to surpass competitors in its morning and evening newscasts, and expand its margin of victory in the early evening.

KXAN News Today (M-F 5-7 a.m.) added viewers overall, but particularly with younger viewers. Adult 18-49 ratings were up 33% while Female 18-49 ratings grew by 36%.

During the May 2016 ratings period KXAN News had its most dominant performance in its history and delivered first place finishes by a significant margin in all key newscast time periods in household ratings. KXAN has demonstrated year-to-year growth in both household ratings and key demographics.
