AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Independent School District’s $1.157 billion budget for fiscal year 2017 passed Monday night, with one abstention.
Trustees will now head to executive session, according to the district.
The budget includes a four percent across-the-board pay increase and a minimum wage increase to $13/hour.
With the district’s drop in enrollment they are saving about $3.9 million in payroll expenses.
Last year, the board approved a $1 billion budget, including $24 million in cuts.
