ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Round Rock Police say charges could be filed against a man who barricaded himself inside his home Sunday, causing police to issue a shelter in place order to the Oaklands subdivision.

Police say family members of the man called 911 just before noon Sunday saying he owned multiple guns and threatened to harm himself.

When officers arrived, they found the man in the front yard of the homes in the 2100 block of Spring Hollow Path. Police say the man disobeyed their orders and he went back inside his home and would not talk to officers.

Police say the man came out a second time and tried to go back inside his home. But SWAT officers tasered the man and fired pepper balls to keep him from going inside.

The man sustained minor injuries and was taken to Round Rock Medical Center for evaluation.

The shelter in place order was lifted after about an hour. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
