AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin ISD school board is expected to make their final votes on how to spend tax dollars on Monday.

The CFO and trustees have been hashing out the budget for months, which totals more than one billion dollars.

The proposed budget includes a four percent salary increase for all employees, which would cost $20 million dollars. The district also wants to increase the minimum wage to $13 for bus drivers, maintenance workers and custodians, costing $1.2 million dollars.

With the district’s drop in enrollment they are saving about $3.9 million in payroll expenses.
