Los Angeles, California (NBC News) – Friday marked the 22nd anniversary of the infamous O.J. Simpson Bronco chase.
On June 17th 1994, 95 million Americans watched O.J. Simpson’s white Ford Bronco being slowly chased by police down Los Angeles freeways.
Simpson was in the vehicle driven by his childhood friend Al Cowlings, also a former football player.
The chase began after Simpson was scheduled to turn himself for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
The most televised police pursuit in history ended hours later when Simpson surrendered at his home in Brentwood.
As we all know, a jury found Simpson not guilty in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
In 2007, the former NFL player was convicted of multiple felonies in connection to an armed robbery incident in Las Vegas.
He is currently serving a sentence of 33 years in prison.
