AUSTIN (KXAN) — AT&T says a cut fiber cable has led to customers in parts of Austin losing wired and wireless services, primarily in the northern Austin suburbs.

AT&T engineers were onsite Friday evening repairing the fiber cable.

“All wire line and wireless services are currently running normally following a fiber cut caused by road construction that affected some customers in the northern suburbs of Austin. We apologize for this inconvenience,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.

The AT&T services have been restored since Saturday morning. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
