KYLE, Texas (KXAN) — Surveillance video of an armed robbery at a Valero gas station in Kyle on Saturday, June 11 has been released. The clerk was shot in the leg during the robbery.

Deputies were called to the store on Highway 21 and FM 2001 at 10:15 p.m. Two suspects went into the store and fired multiple shots. The store clerk, shot in the leg below the knee, was in stable condition.

A 16-year-old male from Buda has been arrested. Police found him in an apartment off Slaughter Lane in Austin. Due to his age, his information and picture will not be released, deputies say. The teenager fired a shot at a potential witness’ vehicle in the Valero parking lot and fired multiple shots in the store as well.

He has not been cooperative with the investigation and the second suspect is still on the run.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the second suspect and his vehicle. During the robbery, he was wearing blue pants with a Captain America logo running vertically on the left leg, a light gray hoodie-type sweatshirt, dark-colored gloves, white athletic shoes and a royal blue baseball cap with white writing and a gray-colored brim. A blue bandana with white lines was covering his face and he was carrying a multi-colored Jansport backpack.

The suspects were last seen in a four-door Chevrolet pickup truck. Authorities believe it is possibly gray, blue or tan in color.

Armando Mendez works at his family’s restaurant right down the road, and had not even heard about the violent crime.

“Hopefully, they’re not in touch with other people that can come and do more damage,” said Mendez.

If you recognize the second suspect contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7896 and ask to speak with the Criminal Investigations Division. You can also contact the Hays County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS.
