‘All clear’ issued for Florence after chlorine leak

City of Florence, Texas

FLORENCE, Texas (KXAN) — The city of Florence is no longer under a shelter in place after a 250 gallon chlorine container was found leaking Wednesday morning.

Residents up to the 500 block of FM 970 were asked to stay in doors with their windows shut. Towels should also be placed near any gaps and A/C should be turned off.

People should not drive in the affected area. A full Hazmat team has contained the leak. Chlorine can affect your skin, nose, eyes, or throat. If you notice an irritation you are asked to call 911.
