FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — Three men were arrested just outside of Katy, Texas Friday afternoon after deputies in Fayette County say they shot a man multiple times near a chicken house on Old Smithville Road.
The incident started with what deputies describe as a debt owed by the victim. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call around 6 p.m. Friday with word that a man armed with a gun was chasing a worker at a chicken house. Deputies and troopers responded only to find the victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies say a witness saw three Hispanic men climb into a car and sped off. The witness snapped a picture of the car and license plate which helped deputies determine the suspects may be on their way to Katy. Investigators issued a “Be on the lookout,” or BOLO, for the vehicle and alerted Katy Police.
Some time later, the vehicle and suspects were spotted in Katy where they were stopped and arrested.
The men, 28-year-old Juan Jose Vasquez, 39-year-old Jose Israel Licona and 24-year-old Luis Edgardo Gomez, all from Houston, were taken back to Fayette County to face charges of aggravated robbery. Each man is being held on $1M bond.
